An Introduction to Finding a Foreign Bride
♫ Thursday, May 27th, 2010The first step is to look for a reputable introduction agency. There is little point in finding yourself attracted to a woman only to discover the agent is not reliable. Unfortunately dating scams happen, and it may stem from the website in some cases. There are some online support groups available for men looking for and who have found foreign brides so consider joining these and getting the important information from people who have been through the process before you rush into a decision. They can also assist you with learning legal requirements and cultural differences you may need to be aware of.
Before you form a relationship make sure you consider your local visa requirements and whether there are certain citizenships that do not qualify. There have been many men and their bride-to-be left disappointed and heartbroken because they did not research the facts on migration before the relationship started. Unless you are prepared to pack up and move to another country – some in crippling poverty or violent combat, you need to know your bride will make it to your home safe and sound if the relationship is successful.
Be wary of women asking for gifts or money early in the contact process. It seems obvious but blinded by infatuation and developing feelings you may forget this. It’s more likely that the woman is actually working a scam, or doesn’t exist at all and an agency or unrelated person is trying to steal from you if the conversation is filled with material or monetary requests. Give limited contact information to start, and attempt to build up some familiarity by email and telephone before handing over your details. Also be sure to ask for further photographs to show the listing photo correlates to the person you are talking with. If the woman is a legitimate seeker of romance this shouldn’t be a problem and be prepared to offer the same in return.
Being financially stable is critical, and costs may accrue. Often the women seeking marriage outside their own country may be financially worse off than you due to cultural customs or lack of suitable employment. You will be expected to travel to her country of origin to meet and get to know her family and friends, and immigration is an expensive process. When she arrives in your country she will most likely be unable to work for a period of time even if she’s university educated, and you’ll be expected to financially provide for her, both personally and by your Government.
